Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed the loan signing of Japanese forward Keijiro Ogawa for the upcoming Isuzu UTE A-League season.
The experienced forward has spent his entire career in Japan, predominately at J1 League side Vissel Kobe where he played close to 180 games over eight seasons.
During his time in Japan, Ogawa has won the Super Cup, Emperor Cup and J-League Cup with Vissel Kobe and more recently has spent the last season with Yokohoma FC where he has featured in 23 matches.
Western Sydney Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas welcomed Keijiro to the club.
“Keijiro’s signing with the club further solidifies our club’s connection and linkage with Asian football as well as our history in the region,” said Tsatsimas.
“We have had a great history with Japanese players at the club since our inception and we are looking forward to Keijiro reinforcing this reputation in our Red & Black history.”
Head coach Carl Robinson praised Keijiro’s versatility and pedigree.
“Keijirio has a lot of versatility and experience in the front-third, and he has the ability to play as a wide player or as a forward,” said Robinson.
“He is dynamic and has good pedigree having played in the top-flight of Asian football for close to a decade.”
Keijiro Ogawa said he was excited to touch down in Western Sydney in the coming weeks
