The Western Sydney Wanderers 2024 edition of the Future Wander Women Program concluded over the weekend with a memorable Presentation Evening at CommBank Stadium, marking the end of an inspiring 20-week journey.
Running over Terms 2 and 3 of the school calendar in a 20-week block, this year’s program offered 100 young women a unique opportunity to refine their skills, gain mentorship from elite coaches, and take their football careers to the next level.
The program featured an All-Star lineup of coaches, including Tom Sermanni, Head of Women’s Football and interim CommBank Matildas coach, Robbie Hooker, Wanderers Liberty A-League head coach, Sam McGowan, Liberty A-League assistant coach, Geoff Abrahams, NPL Women’s Community Coach, and Linda Khamis, Community Coach.
Participants also benefited from the expertise of Jimmy Fraser, Wanderers Academy Goalkeeping Coach and Australian football legend.
Since its inception in 2021, the Future Wander Women Program has continued to grow and thrive, proudly supported by the Wanderers Foundation and its donors, including Wellways (front of shirt sponsor), Business NSW, Business Western Sydney, Scendar, Cook’s Plumbing, Vaccaro Group, Intermain, and Western Sydney University.
As the program concluded, several standout participants were recognized for their achievements:

- Clare Hunt Award – Miriam Zumaya
- Coaches Award – Ruby Drosos
- Coaches Award – Romany Janssens
The Future Wander Women Program continues to play an essential role in the Wanderers’ commitment to empowering young female athletes and creating pathways to success in football.
