Wanderers Re-Sign Chessari

Western Sydney Wanderers FC have tonight confirmed the re-signing of Amy Chessari for the upcoming Ninja A-League season.

Amy Chessari joined Western Sydney Wanderers on a scholarship deal for the 2022/23 season, after impressing during her time with Football NSW Institute in the NPL Women’s competition.

Amy has firmly established herself as a key defensive midfield anchor for the Red & Black, earning praise for her spatial awareness, technical ability, and leadership on the field.

Off the pitch, Chessari is actively involved in community initiatives, highlighting her positive impact beyond football.

Throughout the 2024/25 season, Chessari firmly established herself as a key starter, earning a place in the starting lineup for 22 of the team’s 23 matches.

Chessari has become a valuable presence in the Wanderers’ midfield and is well positioned to take on an even greater role as the team continues to grow.

Head coach Geoff Abrahams praised Chessari’s continued growth and her commitment to the club.

“Amy embodies everything we value at this club, professionalism, humility, and a relentless work ethic,” said Abrahams.

“Amy’s earned her spot through consistency and determination. We’re incredibly proud of the progress made over the past few seasons and excited to see her play an even bigger role in the club’s success.

Chessari said she is focused on personal growth and contributing to the club’s success this season.

“This team has so much potential to be a title contender. We’ve consistently shown the quality and depth within our playing group, and I’m committed to playing my part to steer this team in the right direction,” said Chessari.

“I’m focused on continuing my development as a player and doing everything I can to help the team achieve some overdue success.

“Thank you to the Western Sydney Wanderers for giving me my first opportunity in the A-Leagues, and to the members and fans for their unwavering support throughout the season. Stick with us, we’ll be working hard to deliver the wins this team and our supporters deserve.
