Ugarkovic and Barrie inspiring young players in Parramatta

The Wanderers’ commitment to inspiring the next generation of footballers continued last week with Steven Ugarkovic and Nate Barrie visiting the Pre-Academy Development Program Site at The King’s School, Parramatta.

The pair spent time with young players, offering encouragement and showcasing the pathway opportunities available through the Wanderers’ Academy programs.

Powered by MKJ Projects, the Pre-Academy Development Program is a 10-week, term-based training initiative designed for boys and girls aged 5–15 years who want to take their football to the next level.

By hosting sessions at multiple Sites across Western Sydney, including Parramatta, the program makes high-quality coaching more accessible to local players and their families.

At The King’s School site, players train under the guidance of Wanderers Academy coaches, focusing on skill development, technical growth, and building confidence on and off the ball.

Visits from first-team players like Ugarkovic and Barrie add to the experience, giving participants a unique opportunity to connect with role models and see where hard work and passion can lead.

Registrations for Term 4 are now open, with spots available at The King’s School and other Sites across Western Sydney. Players can join at any time during the term, with fees adjusted so families only pay for the sessions that remain.

The Pre-Academy Development Program continues to bring football closer to home for hundreds of young players across the region – offering a pathway, a community, and an inspiring place to grow their love for the game.
