Western Sydney Wanderers Members will get their first opportunity to see the club’s Ninja A-League Women squad on the pitch this Saturday, with the team opening the 2026/27 Members Season Launch at Wanderers Football Park.

With pre-season preparations now underway, Head Coach Geoff Abrahams and his new-look squad will take to the pitch from 12:30pm, giving Members their first glimpse of the team ahead of the new Ninja A-League campaign.
There will be plenty of new faces to watch following a significant recruitment period for the Red & Black.
Among them is Rhianna Pollicina, who returns to the Wanderers where her Ninja A-League journey began. The experienced attacking midfielder arrives back in Western Sydney having made 85 appearances and scored 29 goals across four seasons with Melbourne City, winning consecutive Premierships and earning three PFA Team of the Season selections before spending last season with Melbourne Victory.
Championship-winning goalkeeper Sarah Langman is also back in Western Sydney. The 2024/25 Ninja A-League Goalkeeper of the Year was part of Central Coast Mariners’ Championship-winning squad and brings valuable experience and leadership to a young Wanderers group.
There are also several Western Sydney connections throughout the new squad.
Tiana Jaber returns to her hometown club after more than 70 appearances in the competition, including 39 across two-and-a-half seasons with Wellington Phoenix. A product of Western Sydney football, the Lebanese international first made her Ninja A-League debut with the Wanderers in 2020.
Young Matildas defender Tegan Bertolissio is another returning Western Sydney product. The former Blacktown Spartans junior joins after 54 Ninja A-League appearances for Canberra United and has continued her rise through the national team pathway, including captaining the Young Matildas against New Zealand.
The squad has been strengthened further with international experience through Philippines midfielder/forward Carleigh Frilles, who arrives with more than 50 appearances for her country and was part of the historic Filipinas squad at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Frilles is already familiar with Western Sydney, having previously represented Blacktown Spartans in the NPL NSW Women’s competition.
Norwegian defender Silje Bjørneboe brings more than 200 appearances for Stabæk Fotball Kvinner to the Red & Black, while Sofia Sakalis adds creativity and experience in midfield after more than 65 Ninja A-League appearances and previous representation across Australia’s Under-17, Under-20 and Under-23 national teams.
Members will also get their first look at new signing Isabella Chidiac, who returns to Australia following four seasons of NCAA Division I football with the University of Denver, where she developed into a key creative presence in midfield.
They join fellow new arrivals Samantha Iredale, Estelle Fragale, Sofia Palywoda and a host of returning Wanderers, including Talia Younis, Alvina Khoshaba and Frida Karaberis, as the squad begins to come together ahead of the new campaign.
Saturday’s session will be followed by a Ninja A-League Women Meet & Greet at 2:15pm, giving Members the opportunity to meet the squad before the focus turns to the beginning of the season.
The Wanderers will officially kick off their 2026/27 Ninja A-League campaign on Saturday 17 October, welcoming Melbourne City to Wanderers Football Park.
Before then, this Saturday is the first chance for Members to see what is taking shape in Western Sydney.
