Three Wanderers played international football on Wednesday night as the Matildas drew 2-2 with World Champions Japan in the Asian Cup.

Three Wanderers played international football on Wednesday night as Emily van Egmond, Alanna Kennedy and Teigen Allen were in the starting Xi as the Matildas drew 2-2 with World Champions Japan in the Asian Cup.
All three were solid in defence while van Egmond showed some class up field with some deft passes.
James Baldacchino was a big part of South Coast Wolves- second consecutive win as they defeated St George 2-0. It was the team-s first clean sheet of the season and the defender played well in a tough, physical encounter which got the Wolves off the bottom of the ladder.
Sean Symons was the star for Rockdale City Suns once again as the midfielder played a full match, causing havoc as the Suns drew 0-0 with Sutherland Sharks. Not the result Symons was after but he can be happy with his individual performance as he finished with one point in the Player of the Year votes.
Sydney Olympic suffered a disappointing 2-2 draw with Manly United despite the increasingly impressive Brendan Hooper playing a solid 90 minutes. Olympic came from behind to lead only to concede late on for a share of the points.
Matthew Stewart and Blake Tuxford were on the pitch for Blacktown City-s 2-1 loss against Bonnyrigg. While Stewart had a quiet game, Tuxford made a number of saves to do his rising reputation no harm at all.
There were a pair of Wanderers on the pitch for North West Sydney Koalas when Jessica Seaman and Servet Uzunlar took on Manly United in an entertaining tussle. Falling two goals behind early, Seaman got the Koalas back on track with a thunderous header from a corner before the Koalas scored again to equalise soon after. With a draw imminent, Manly scored in the last play of the match meaning a 3-2 loss.
It was Uzunlar-s fourth match back from an injury troubled 16 months and she played well but still has some work to do to get back to peak fitness.
Illawarra Stingrays had Michelle Carney to thank as her two goals helped defeat Jenna Kingsley-s Blacktown 2-1. Jordan Baker also played 75 minutes for the winners.
Marconi Stallions and Helen Petinos looked to get back on the winners list as they travelled to Northbridge but things didn-t go to plan despite Petinos opening the scoring in a 3-2 loss. The Wanderers striker looked dangerous all match, showing great touch and good vision but in the end Northbridge did just enough to take all three points in a tough encounter.
Sydney University and Rachael Soutar played valiantly against league leaders Macarthur Rams and despite a 3-1 loss both Soutar and Uni will be happy with their performance.
THIS WEEKEND
With the Hyundai A-League season concluded you can still support your Wanderers as our players take the field in the National Premier League.
Emily van Egmond, Alanna Kennedy and Teigen Allen take on Jordan tonight (8:15pm) and Vietnam on Sunday (10:15pm) with both matches on Fox Sports.
Jake McGing and James Baldacchino go head-to-head as Marconi Stallions host the in-form South Coast Wolves. The match kicks-off at 7:30pm on Saturday at Marconi Stadium.
Sean Symons will look to continue his league-best form when his Rockdale City Suns take on Brendan Hooper-s Sydney Olympic at Ilinden Sports Centre on Sunday. Kick-off is 3pm.
Sydney United 58 host Blacktown City with Mark Cindric playing firsts for the home team while Blake Tuxford and Matthew Stewart will pull on an U20s jersey for the visitors. Matches will be held at Sydney United Sports Centre with 20s at 1pm followed by firsts at 3pm.
Blacktown Spartans and Jenna Kingsley will be up against it as they take on the might of Macarthur Rams at Blacktown Football Park on Sunday. Kick-off at 3pm.
There will be a multitude of Wanderers on display as Michelle Carney, Caitlin Cooper and Jordan Baker take the field for Illawarra Stingrays when Helen Petinos and Marconi Stallions come to visit. Held at Collegians Sports Ground on Sunday, kick-off is 3pm.
Racheal Soutar and Georgia Rowntree face Servet Uzunlar and Jessica Seaman when Sydney Uni host North West Sydney Koalas. Get down to Wilson Park on Sunday for a 3pm kick-off.
