Our Community contingent including Wynston the Wanderer are off to jail this Friday for Whitelion’s ‘Bail Out’ Charity Event and are desperately trying to raise $2,000 for their freedom.
Whitelion is a national, non-profit community organisation that supports at-risk young people aged 12-25 years who have been identified as highly vulnerable to social exclusion and involvement in anti-social and/or offending behaviour.
Their vision supports disadvantaged young people to live more positive and fulfilled lives.
They build meaningful relationships and create opportunities that enable highly vulnerable and high risk young people to reconnect with society and reach their full potential.
The ‘Bail Out’ is Whitelion’s national fundraising and awareness campaign.
It provides a unique opportunity to step into the shoes of a young person that has been disconnected from our community due to abuse and neglect, drug addiction and poverty.
The event expose inmates to life on the inside with activities that simulate prison life.
Inmates will be stripped of possessions, fingerprinted, photographed and subjected to interrogation.
They will also appear before a Magistrate in a mock court proceeding before being sentenced to some cell time where there will be the opportunity to get on the phone to request some final donations.
Our Community Team will be representing the club alongside everybody’s favourite garden gnome.
