The midfield maestro visited the Sydney Japanese School in Terrey Hills and thrilled the 200 children and hundreds of their parents.
Ono addressed the entire school at assembly and answered a range of pressing questions from the primary school students in Japanese and English.
The Blue Samurai legend then made a guest appearance at the junior football clinic being conducted at the school by the Wanderers and Sports Kickstart.
He kicked balls around with the kids, performed some tricks with the ball and gave them some tips on technique.
A large Japanese-Australian media contingent was on hand to capture the action.
The move was in recognition by the Wanderers of the extensive support it has received from Japanese corporations and the Australian community.
Local Japanese groups regularly buy large blocks of seats at Parramatta Stadium to watch their favourite team.
Wanderers jerseys were on show yesterday at the school when Ono signed hundreds of autographs and posed in hundreds of photographs.
The Wanderers will be hosting a Japanese networking suite at Sunday-s second last regular season home game at Parramatta Stadium against Wellington Phoenix at 5pm.
