NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers Coach Tony Popovic has called on members and supporters to help drive the team to three wins in a row for the first time in its short history.
In his first ever Christmas message, Popovic thanked supporters for driving the team to greater heights with their noise and passion from the terraces.
He wished everyone associated with the club a happy and safe Christmas and New Year.
“We are approaching the halfway point of the Hyundai A-League and we are certainly making an impact,” Popovic said.
“We are pleased with our progress but realise there is still more work to do.
“I look forward to seeing you all in red and black at our next home game.”
Last week the Wanderers continued their shake-up of the league with a convincing 2-nil win over their cross-city rivals, Sydney FC.
In the lead-up to the eagerly anticipated Sydney Derby, the club officially registered over 5,000 members – a milestone met with great appreciation by the coach.
This week the Wanderers face second-placed Hyundai A-League high-flyers Adelaide United at Parramatta Stadium at 7pm on Friday.
