An historic Sydney Derby double header will light up ANZ Stadium this December after the Westfield W-League 2017/18 season draw was released today.
On Saturday 9 December, Red & Black will meet Sky Blue in the Westfield W-League at 5:00pm before the 17th Hyundai A-League Sydney Derby kicks off at 7:50pm.
It’s just one of four double headers this Westfield W-League season, with the Wanderers also securing three broadcast games on FOX SPORTS.
Those double headers will be played at ANZ Stadium, while the Wanderers’ remaining home games will be played at Marconi Stadium.
The Wanderers will play five of their home matches on a Friday night, along with one Saturday night and one Monday night fixture.
The Wanderers will kick-off their season in an away double header against Newcastle Jets on Sunday 29 October at McDonald Jones Stadium before hosting Adelaide United on Friday 3 November at Marconi Stadium.
It’s set to be an exciting season for the Red & Black with a number of players including Jada Whyman, Trudy Burke, Rosie Sutton, Olivia Price and Sunny Franco already announced.
