The Western Sydney Wanderers Foxtel Y-League squad travels to Leichhardt on Saturday night to play against cross-city rivals Sydney FC, knowing that a draw will be enough to secure their place in the Grand Final.

Last round, the Wanderers saw their five-match winning streak come to an end after a narrow 3-2 loss to Central Coast Mariners.

Meanwhile, Sydney FC enters into the match after a 2-2 draw against Newcastle Jets which saw them come from behind to share the points.

The Red & Black will need to keep an eye on Sydney forward Jeremy Cox, who has netted three times this season including a goal that was in the last Derby.

John Roberts will be one to watch after recently joining the Wanderers from Melbourne City. The 16-year-old forward has previously spent time at the FFA Centre of Excellence and was called up to the most recent Young Socceroos squad in November.

Moudi Najjar is another player that is sure to make an impact. The 17-year-old forward has played in five games this Foxtel Y-League season and has grabbed one goal and assist.

Najjar is also coming off an excellent season for the club’s NPL Under-20s side, scoring 20 goals in 18 games.

It was a happy occasion the last time the Wanderers took on Sydney in December with the Red & Black triumphing 3-1 at Marconi Stadium.

Abraham Majok, Lachlan Scott and Mohamed Adam were the scores for the Wanderers that night.
