A youth forum and motivational talk from Brendan Hamill and Vedran Janjetovic were part of activities planned in Parramatta in the lead up to Youth Week 2018.
The City of Parramatta’s annual Youth forum took place at the Parkroyal in Parramatta today bringing together youngsters from the Parramatta region for a number of fun and educational activities.
“This is an opportunity for Council to hear from our young people about their hopes and aspirations for their city and neighbourhoods. We want them to know that their views are being heard and that they are important to ensuring the success of Parramatta,” City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Andrew Wilson said.
“The young people in the first session will be from primary and secondary schools across Parramatta and will be asked their opinions on a broad range of city-changing projects, including the new aquatic leisure centre.”
Brendan Hamill and Vedran Janjetovic attended the day’s events delivering a motivational talk and forum with students from Arthur Phillip High School.
“We’re very humbled to be able to speak to students from Arthur Philip High School about our journey and some of the challenges we’ve had to face to get to where we are today,” said Wanderer Brendan Hamill.
“It’s always great to speak to young people from our local community about some of the issues they face and reflect that in what we all go through and can achieve through hard work and determination.”
Council’s libraries are also delivering a number of events during NSW Youth Week from 13-22 April including cartoon drawing workshops, board games, HSC resources seminar and dancing workshops.
