Led by the Wanderers highly qualified Academy coaches, the Wanderers coaching philosophy in the program is player-centric and driven with the outcome to provide players for the club’s Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s, Liberty A-League Women’s and future national teams.

The program includes a grading day which allows coaches to monitor participants development throughout the length of the program.

Participants will be taught the same skills and methods as Wanderers Academy players and is a fantastic opportunity for coaches to identify and transition players into the Wanderers Academy.

Wanderers Academy Technical Director Ian Crook believes the Pre-Academy Development Program is an excellent way to develop the next generation of Wanderers.

“Our Pre-Academy Development Program allows us to look at the next generation of Wanderers and hopefully develop them, and get some good players to our system,” said Crook.

“It is critical for us to have something in place where we can work with players on a weekly basis and following the success of last year’s 30-week Program we are delighted to bring the program back in 2022.”

Former Pre-Academy Development Program participant and current U13s Wanderers Academy player Emile Katrib praised the Pre-Academy Development’s pathway.

“I heard that the Wanderers were starting a Pre-Academy for people to join in so I thought it would be my best chance to develop as a footballer under some of the best coaches, you learn a lot under them like the fundamentals of the basics,” said Katrib.

Each block of the program runs over 10 Weeks and depending on how your child is graded, they could be training in a Friday night or Sunday morning session.

The program includes a full Pre-Academy Development Program kit, professional coaching from Wanderers Academy coaches under the guidance of Wanderers Academy Technical Director Ian Crook in a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
