The Western Sydney Wanderers returned to commence pre-season training today in preparation for the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 season with fan favourite Raúl Llorente looking forward to a big season for the Red & Black.
The Spanish left-back returns after triggering an automatic one-year extension to his contract, following a strong 2017/18 season which saw him feature in 26 matches.
A marauding presence down the Wanderers left side last season, Llorente became a popular member within the group and returns to build on his positive start with the club.
“I am excited to be back because my first season at the club was amazing,” said Llorente.
“I really hope our second season together will be fantastic with the new coach, new staff, and new players.
“I believe this season will be an amazing season together.”
Having settled in well last season, Llorente is looking to build on his previous performances at the club.
“I finally found my place here, I’m really good and really happy.
“Last season I played 26 out of 27 games, so this season I want to play 27 out of 27 games.
“I want to play in every game and I want to play better this season.”
