Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed the signing of experienced defender Dylan McGowan for the next three Hyundai A-League seasons.
The Parra Hills junior kicked off his professional career at Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian where he made 64 appearances before loan spells at Easte Fife and Gold Coast United.
The 27-year-old returned to the Hyundai A-League in 2014 joining Adelaide United, starring in the heart of defence for over 80 matches. He helped the club win both the FFA Cup and Hyundai A-League Championship during his three seasons at the club.
The central defender then enjoyed another stint overseas with K-League club Gangwon before moving to Denmark in February to play for Danish Superliga side Vendyssel.
McGowan was named in the Socceroos FIFA World Cup qualification squad in the journey to Russia and is excited to link up with his fellow Red & Black teammates.
“I’m delighted to be joining the Wanderers. It’s a really exciting time for the club with things like moving into the new stadium and the team the coach (Markus Babbel) is building,” said McGowan.
“I’m looking forward to being a part of that and bringing success to the club.
“Coming back to Australia is the right decision for myself and my family. I have been successful here before and want to be again at the Wanderers.”
