After spending the early days of his senior career in Croatia and Bucharest, Georgievski returned to Australia in 2014 to play for Hyundai A-League outfits Melbourne Victory and Newcastle Jets.
During his stints in the domestic competition, Georgievski played at Wanderland at handful of times but each time was an experience he remembered.
“I only had a couple of games when it was Wanderland and you know it definitely wasn’t something that we liked (as an opposition),” said Georgievski.
“It was one of the hardest stadiums to come to and play against in front of the crowd.
“It wasn’t like a 12th man, it was a 13th man so now it’s good to be on this side for the new stadium.”
Georgievski had his first look at Wanderland late last week and is now counting down the days for the Wanderers first match back against English Championship side Leeds United.
“It’s amazing actually, it’s one of the nicest stadiums I’ve actually seen. It’s nice and compact.
“I definitely cannot wait to start playing at Wanderland and this is something spectacular.
“It has one of the steepest stands in the world so it’ll just be that extra motivation to go harder.
“It’ll be a bit in your face which probably will be intimidating for everyone but we’ll get used to it.”
The first chance Georgievski will have the Red & Black on his side will be next Saturday night with the Macedonian international set to make his debut for the ckub at the opening of the stadium for football.
“To open the stadium for our first game against a team that almost made it to the Premier League is something that is very nice for the fans.
“With Leeds United there’s a lot of history with Australian players there but at the same time we’re here to do a job.
“If you make the fans proud and happy that means you’re doing your job right, and hopefully we do that this year.”
