With the Wanderers Westfield W-League team officially hitting the two-week milestone of their pre-season preparations, forward Khamis said it’s been an enjoyable start to the club’s 2020/21 campaign.

“Look it’s good to be back and I feel good at the moment,” said Khamis.

“I guess I got another opportunity, I got in touch with Heff (Dean Heffernan) and it feels good to be back home in the Red & Black.

“I’m excited to be a part of it, you saw what they did last season, I mean they created history and I want to be part of that this season again.”

Khamis is one of the more experienced players in head coach Dean Heffernan’s squad this season and is grateful to be given another opportunity to play in the W-League.

“We’ve got a very young team, there’s a lot of young very good players, talented young girls who are very energetic and very lively,” explained Khamis.

“A few familiar faces that I’ve seen as part of the NPL, it’s great to see them now get their opportunity in the W-League and they’ll be a pleasure to watch this year and mixed in with a bit of experience with us older girls.

“I just take each game as it comes now and I’m grateful to be playing another season of the W-League and I’m really looking forward to it.
