A Weekend With The Coles

NRMA Western Sydney Wanderers defender Shannon Cole is preparing for a very exciting weekend.

The 28-year-old has a large contingent of family and friends coming to watch the Hyundai A-League Match against Perth Glory at Parramatta Stadium as an entrée to his main event on Sunday.

“Jacqueline and I are getting married on Sunday afternoon so first things first I will focus on the game and once that-s over then I-m sure the excitement levels will be up there,” Cole said.

“It-s obviously an exciting time for us.”

With a groomsmen list of 11, Cole has shared this excitement with his guests who are traveling from overseas to be in Sydney for the wedding.

“The club has been great and helped me organise a suite for sixty of them and I-ve told them it will be the best atmosphere they will experience in a sporting venue,” he said.

“I have no doubt that will be the case.”

A win over Melbourne Victory last Saturday night has affirmed the club-s position on the ladder – and Cole says it-s nice to know that the squad is on the right track to doing things right.

“It-s a good thing to be part of,” Cole said.

“It-s good to learn so much and see results as well.

“We-ve got ourselves into a good position now where we-re one point behind the league leaders so it-s a great opportunity to keep putting pressure on them.”

The Wanderers- next home game is against Perth Glory FC at Parramatta Stadium on Saturday at 5.30pm.
