Alou Kuol joins Wanderers for 2025/26 season

Western Sydney Wanderers FC have tonight confirmed the signing of forward Alou Kuol on a one-year deal for the upcoming 2025/26 Isuzu UTE A-League season.

Kuol began his senior career with the Goulburn Valley Suns before joining the Central Coast Mariners’ youth setup in 2019. He made his professional debut with the Mariners in the 2019/20 season and quickly became known for his dynamic playing style and goal-scoring ability.

Kuol enjoyed a breakout season with the Central Coast Mariners in the 2020/21 season, scoring 7 goals in 30 appearances.

His impressive form quickly drew interest from overseas, earning him a move to Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart in 2021. While at Stuttgart, Kuol primarily featured for the reserve team, VfB Stuttgart II, and had a brief loan spell at SV Sandhausen in the 2. Bundesliga.

Kuol returned to the Mariners in July 2023, bringing valuable experience and playing a key role in their 2023/24 campaign.

He also made his mark on the international stage, finishing as the top scorer at the 2024 WAFF U23 Championship with three goals for Australia’s U23s.

At just 23, Kuol offers flair, pace, and a proven goal instinct, reaffirming his status as one of the league’s most dynamic and promising attackers.

Head coach Alen Stajcic welcomed Kuol to the club, expressing his confidence in his potential.

“Alou’s a great fit for what we’re building here,” said Stajcic.

“He’s hardworking, eager to improve, and adds genuine quality in the final third. We believe this is the ideal environment for him to realise his full potential.”

Kuol said he felt an immediate connection to the club’s vision and community.

“Staj and Naz spoke to me – I’ve worked with them before, and what they’re aiming to achieve next season really excites me,”

“When I first came to Australia, I used to live in St Marys, so I’ve always felt like the Wanderers were a team I’d love to play for. To now have that opportunity and represent the West, I’m really excited for, as well as meeting everyone and playing in front of the RBB.

“I want to score goals, work hard for the team and the fans, and become an A-Leagues champion with the Wanderers.”
