Wanderers Powerchair goalkeeper Andy Waite writes a column to the fans ahead of his 50th match in Red & Black.
Hi Everyone,
We are underway again in this year’s Powerchair competition and have already played the first round, a 0-0 draw in the Sydney Derby. I felt that we as a team dominated our rivals but we struggled to finish.
This weekend we will be taking on the Central Coast Mariners and we have prepared for a tough match as always.
We are confident in ourselves and think that we can secure the three points against them, we had it over them last season so hopefully this season we can do it again.
This match also marks a very important milestone in my Powerchair career as I will be reaching my 50th game in the Red & Black.
Out of all the great memories I have had playing so far, the best ones have always been about the camaraderie that we have in the team. We all go out there and make sure that we have fun no matter what the final result is – win, lose or draw.
I still remember one match where we scored in the final ten seconds to win the game and it’s memories like these that have made me enjoy the game so much.
I hope to celebrate my 50th match with you all this Saturday 3.30pm at Kevin Betts Stadium.
