Mark Bridge has put the call out for Alex Brosque to return home, but he’s not holding his breath.
Wanderers FC striker Mark Bridge wants former Sydney FC strike partner Alex Brosque to return from Japan and join him at the Hyundai A-League-s newest club.
Speaking exclusively Bridge revealed if he could have one player join him it would be the Qantas Socceroos marksman, though he wasn-t feeling too confident about enticing him back from the J-League.
“Alex Brosuqe would be brilliant for the club, he-s a western Sydney boy who is doing well in Japan and killing it for the Socceroos, but I don-t think he will be back before the World Cup.”
While a returning Brosque is a long shot, at least Bridge has some former teammates making the hike across town with him in Shannon Cole and Michael Beauchamp and according to Bridge all have settled in well with their small squad of new teammates.
“Things are going really well… the good thing about football in Australia sooner or later everyone plays or has played with everyone else, I know Nikolay Topor-Stanley and Tarek Elrich from youth teams in the past, so there is a good feeling amongst the boys.”
As for what match Bridge is most looking forward to, well that one is obvious as he seeks to get one over some former teammates in sky blue.
“The first game I was looking forward to was the Sydney FC game, I thought that would have been the first game but it-s third, so I-ll focus on the Mariners first.”
