The Wanderers first ever goal scorer Mark Bridge has today spoken about ‘that goal- and how he will be go down in the history books.
“It-s very good, it-s a big moment for me and an even bigger moment for the club,” Bridge said. “Brisbane is always a tough trip and we are happy but we now have to turn our focus to the Heart, it-s a short turn-around so we-ll look at them and get ourselves ready.”
Bridge knows there is a certain weight off the club-s shoulders now that the first win has been registered but knows that it is now about doing that every week.
“We believe that we-ve played well to start the season, the boys are happy.”
The Wanderers take on the Melbourne Heart in their round five clash at Parramatta Stadium this Friday night and although coming off a tough run, it will be a match that the squad will be ready for.
“They are a good team, we played them throughout the pre-season in Lismore and they have a good squad and John (Aloisi) and Foxey (Hayden Foxe) have them well drilled and although they have a few injury concerns they have great depth.”
