After a promising debut in the Hyundai A-League, the Wanderers will be looking to continue that form into their round two fixture against Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium, Adelaide on Friday night.
Forward Mark Bridge said he was extremely excited as he made his way to Parramatta Stadium last Saturday and was happy with the way the squad performed.
“I was too excited, everyone was talking about it on the radio,” he said. “I eventually just turned it off and sat there in silence so I could concentrate.”
“We were happy with our performance but as always there is plenty to improve on.
“The coaching staff told us that no matter what the result was we were going to come back and continue working on the plans that we have put in place to make sure that we get better.”
After the match, Bridge reflected on what was a great night.
“It was great, the match was great, the crowd was great the only thing that let us down was the weather but we can-t do anything about that.”
The man that everyone wants to see in full flight is new recruit Shinji Ono and Bridge is looking forward to seeing him at his best in the red and black.
“He-s fit into the system well,” he added. “He looked good after only being here for five days (last week), so he-ll be better for the run and with a full week of training this week we hope he gets better.
“You don-t bring in someone like Shinji and not use him, so we-ll all be seeing a lot more of him on the pitch.”
