Brillante inks two-year deal

Western Sydney Wanderers FC have confirmed the signing of midfielder Josh Brillante for the next two Isuzu UTE A-League seasons.

A natural leader, Brillante joins the club after an extensive career both domestically and abroad with close to 300 professional appearances to his name.

The midfielder joins the club from A-Leagues side Melbourne Victory where he has captained the squad for the last two seasons.

A born winner, Brillante has won the A-Leagues Premiers Plate and Championship twice, the Australia Cup twice and has been named in the PFA’s Team of the year on three occasions.

Western Sydney Wanderers head coach Marko Rudan welcomed Josh and his family to the club.

“Josh has fantastic leadership qualities and plenty of knowledge and experience of the domestic competition,” said Rudan.

“We welcome him and his family to Western Sydney and look forward to him enjoying his football in a positive environment.”

Brillante said he was excited to join the Red & Black.

“I’ve seen over the years that the Wanderers are a very passionate club with a great member and fan base,” said Brillante.

“It’s a big club with a winning mentality that excites me.

“There have been so many memories playing against the Wanderers. Always a tough team to play against with the buzz in the atmosphere from the members and fans.

“I want to be back enjoying my football and winning games which ultimately leads to winning titles. I want to add to the club that is already so positive on and off the pitch.”
