During the excitement of the AFC Asian Cup, Wanderers Fives became the hub for an unforgettable celebration of football, culture, and community.
The event brought together players, fans, and community members for a day full of fun, skill, and connection, highlighting how the beautiful game can unite people from all walks of life.
One of the event’s standout moments was the chance to play alongside Cindy Heydon, one of the First Matildas. Cindy joined members of the Korean Soccer Association Australia (KSAA) for a series of small-sided soccer games, sharing her experience, tips, and passion for the game.
Participants of all ages got hands-on experience, learning from a trailblazer of Australian women’s football while enjoying the friendly, spirited competition.

The day was organised in partnership with Cultural Pulse and Jeong Ho Lim, Community Champion for the Korea Republic, and was made even more special with a series of cultural performances.
These performances added vibrancy and energy, creating a wonderful fusion of football and culture that celebrated the diverse community of Western Sydney.
The Wanderers Fives event was more than just a day of football, it was a celebration of connection, inclusivity, and shared joy.
It highlighted how sport can bring communities together, bridging cultures and generations while inspiring the next wave of football enthusiasts.
