This World Teachers’ Day, the Western Sydney Wanderers are celebrating the incredible educators who inspire, support and shape the next generation, while inviting teachers across Western Sydney to take their passion for football beyond the classroom through the club’s School Ambassador Program.
Teachers play an important role in the lives of young people, creating opportunities for students to learn, grow and discover their potential. Across Western Sydney, their dedication extends far beyond the classroom, helping build stronger, more connected school communities.
As New South Wales celebrates World Teachers’ Day today, the Wanderers are recognising the outstanding contribution of local educators and encouraging more teachers to become champions of football within their schools.
The Wanderers School Ambassador Program is designed to strengthen the connection between the club and schools across Western Sydney, providing passionate primary and secondary school teachers with exclusive opportunities, resources and experiences to bring football to life for their students.
By becoming a School Ambassador, teachers become the main point of contact between their school and the Wanderers, helping promote community programs, coordinate football activities and gala days, and connect students with opportunities beyond the classroom.
It’s an opportunity to inspire the next generation of footballers, encourage active participation and create memorable experiences that bring school communities together through the power of football.
Bringing the Wanderers to your school
As part of the program, School Ambassadors receive access to a range of exclusive benefits designed to support their school and students, including:
- Direct contact with the Wanderers to explore opportunities to support their school.
- Opportunities to request player appearances and community activations for major school events.
- One complimentary team entry into the Wanderers Schools Cup each year.
- Free tours of Wanderers Football Park, including the opportunity to watch the Wanderers A-League Men train.
- An additional 10% discount on school bookings at Wanderers Fives.
- Access to tickets for Wanderers matches.
Join the Wanderers Ambassador XI
The program also recognises teachers who go above and beyond in bringing football to their school communities through the Wanderers Ambassador XI.
School Ambassadors who actively participate in Wanderers initiatives have the opportunity to be recognised among the program’s standout educators, unlocking additional experiences including recognition on the Wanderers website, an invitation to the club’s A-League Season Launch and an exclusive Ambassador XI matchday experience at CommBank Stadium.
