Western Sydney Wanderers FC, supported by the Wanderers Foundation, are proud to announce that Choice Pharmacy will donate 850 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) to the Wanderers Powerchair Team.
Choice Pharmacy have been proud supporters of the Wanderers community for the last three seasons and have extended their partnership to support the club’s Powerchair team in their upcoming campaign.
The 850 donated RAT tests will be used by players, carers and parents to ensure that the team can train and compete in a safe environment.
Choice Pharmacy General Manager Hasan Moutasallem spoke about the opportunity to give back to a community close to his heart.
“Everyone as a whole went through quite a bit during Corona with all the isolations and chaos surrounding that,” said Moutasallem.
“When we were asked to sponsor this initiative and provide Rapid Antigen Tests, we jumped at it straight away.
“It’s definitely something dear to us and for us to be able to provide the players in the Powerchair competition these tests so that they can go about their competition is really amazing as they can go and do what they love, what they enjoy and I think it’s a great outlet for them to get back to normality.”
Wanderers Powerchair player Andy Waite said the donation of the RAT tests ensures the team are safe when playing and competing.
“Having Choice Pharmacy help us with Rapid Tests to make sure we are safe to go out and compete is really beneficial for the entire team,” said Waite.
“A lot of us are immune compromised so to know that everyone is safe when we go out to compete, just makes us feel a lot safer and happier.
“So we can worry about the game rather than catching COVID.”
Wanderers Powerchair player Ben Keyte thanked Choice Pharmacy for giving the team the opportunity to continue doing what they love.
“Being able to be provided with RAT tests to cover all of us as well as our carers and parents is massive, we can now feel really comfortable in a safe environment,” said Keyte.
“It’s going to allow us to get back to doing what we really love which is Powerchair Football, which is something that we have missed out of a lot in the last two years.
“For some of us, this is all we have. It gives us purpose and something to look forward to.
“A massive thank you to Choice Pharmacy for enabling us to feel like we are in a safe environment and letting us do what we love.”
Western Sydney Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas thanked Choice Pharmacy for their support.
“We thank Hassan and Rami from Choice Pharmacy for their support and association with the Western Sydney Wanderers for the last few years,” said Tsatsimas.
“We look forward to their ongoing support now and in the future.”
