Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed that defender Gabriel Cleur has signed a contract extension that will see him remain with the club until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Cleur, who joined the Wanderers ahead of the 2022/23 Isuzu UTE A-League season has been a reliable and consistent figure in the Red & Black’s defensive unit, bringing with him strong local ties and a professional approach on and off the field.
Since returning to Australia after playing in Italy, Cleur has balanced his A-Leagues career with a strong commitment to mental health. A recipient this season of the PFA’s Taliadoros Scholarship, Cleur also spends his time as a wellbeing officer and mental coach for the Blacktown Spartans NPL 2 Boys team.

A proud Western Sydney local, Cleur said it was an easy decision to continue his journey with the club.
“It was a very easy choice for me to stay with the Wanderers. It’s where I grew up and my family is now settled. The club itself has been an important part of my life – the players, the people in the office, the coaching staff and everything. So for me, it was a no-brainer. I’m grateful for the Wanderers for the extension for another year,” said Cleur.
Reflecting on his favourite moments at the club so far, Cleur highlighted the camaraderie and positive environment within the team.
“There have been many favourite moments. I think just the time spent with the boys in the change room, I know it’s a general moment, but just that and the training fields. There aren’t many places like this in my career so far and I’ve enjoyed spending my time with the players, staff and office people. It’s a good environment. That’s my favourite moment summed up.”

Head coach Alen Stajcic said Cleur brings professionalism and experience to the squad.
“Gab brings great energy and professionalism to the group,” said Stajcic.
“He’s been with the Wanderers for a number of seasons now and really understands the culture, values and expectations of this club.
“That time and experience make him a strong influence in the dressing room and a dependable presence on the pitch. He gives everything for the badge every time he plays, and his commitment to the team is clear in the way he trains, prepares, and supports his teammates leading by example at all times.”
