We have won Community Club of the Year for a third straight season at the FFDU Awards – Australia’s biggest fan-voted sports awards.

Having now won Community Club of the Year in each of our first three seasons, we have claimed an unprecedented hat-trick and would like to thank you for your votes.

As a club run for the people of Western Sydney, being in this position is a huge honour.

Throughout the past year we have been involved in a variety of community programs to give back to the region by making a difference in the Western Sydney community both in a football and a societal sense.

In 2014 we were involved in over 800 community events and appearances at local schools, council initiatives and fundraisers for grassroots and elite clubs in the area.

The Wanderers provided support for charities such as Disability Services Australia, White Ribbon, Youth Off The Streets Outreach, Ronald McDonald House Westmead, Starlight Children’s Foundation and the YMCA.

Support has also been shown through the Wanderers unity and attendance at many multicultural events like the Africultures Festival 2014, Club Marconi Italian Republic Day, Blue Mountains Refuge Support Group, Arab Bank Australia Cup and Fiesta Kultura.

Other programs such as the Schools Cup, the Youth Asian Cup and the Wanderers Asian Community Cup were designed to bring people from different backgrounds in Western Sydney together to represent their country in a game of football and battle it out for Cup glory.

In other awards Jessica Csaszar, contributor to The Wanderer magazine, won Young Writer of the Year while popular Western Sydney snapper Eric Berry won Photographer of the Year.
