NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers striker Dino Kresinger said Adelaide United would be a dangerous opponent on Sunday because of the turmoil at the club.

Kresinger, 30, said the resignation of Adelaide coach John Kosmina on Monday would make the Wanderers- job a bit harder when they travel to Hindmarsh on Sunday afternoon.

“You never know what can happen with a new coach who can give them something new,” Kresinger said.

“For us it would be better if the old coach was still there.”

Adelaide has appointed assistant coach Michael Valkanis in an interim role after Kosmina resigned citing a lack of trust in the management of the club.

Adelaide beat the Wanderers 1-0 at Hindmarsh in Round Two.

The Wanderers dramatically turned the tables on the Reds in a 6-1 in a rampage at Parramatta Stadium in Round Twelve.

They are equal on points but the Wanderers have the edge on them for third on the table on goal difference.

Kresinger is a crowd favourite with Wanderers and scored his first and only goal so far against the Reds.

He sees his role as setting up opportunities for others as well as scoring himself.

“I like my role,” he said.

“I like to play for the team.

“I would really like to score more goals and I hope that it will come also.0

“But now the team is going really good and that is the main thing.”

Kresinger said the Wanderers wanted to win the league.

Yes that is now in our minds,” Kresinger said.

“We want to be good; we want to be the best.

“We want to win every game and we are now in the final third (of the season).

“You always want to be better, you don-t want to be fourth – you want to be second and keep going up.”

The Croatian said his experience so far at the wanderers had exceeded all expectations.

“It is really good to play for Wanderers,” he said.

“We are playing really good and getting good results and the fans are unbelievable.

“I knew it would be tougher at a new club and with a new twenty players and it would take time to play good but it is happening faster than I expected.

“What I didn-t expect was the fans and they are unbelievable and they are with us every game and we enjoy that.”
