E-League Prize Pool and Dates announced

The revved up E-League has announced a prizing structure for the first time in the competition’s history.

  • The winner of the E-League 2022 competition will take home a $4,000 top prize and a place in the EA SportsTM FIFA 22 Global Series Playoffs;
  • The second placed player will earn $2,000 prize money and also qualify for the EA Sports FIFA 22 Global Series Playoffs;
  • $1,400 and $1,000 will go to third and fourth-placed competitors;
  • A further $1,600 will be shared by players finishing between 5th and 8th in the final placings

The move further highlights the ambition and commitment of A-Leagues to grow the E-League into a world-class esports competition.

Ant Hearne, A-Leagues Chief Commercial Officer, said: “At A-Leagues we see great potential in the E-League, and introducing a prize pool is just one way we are improving the competition, and putting the player and fan experience at the forefront of our approach.

“Our focus is firmly on delivering the best E-League tournament ever and rewarding the top players for their efforts is a key part of that, but we won’t stop there.”

E-League and FIFAe commentator Nate Patrick sees it as an important step for the competition: “The prize pool is a fantastic and deserved reward for E-League 2022 competitors.

“It elevates the E-League to a significant standalone esports competition, in addition to being a pathway for competitors aiming for EA SPORTSTM FIFA 22 Global Series Playoffs spots.”

Just last month A-Leagues launched the E-League 2022 competition and announced it was opening up opportunities for FIFA players from across Australia to compete and call themselves Australia’s best, and make it all the way to the EA SPORTSTM FIFA 22 Global Series Playoffs.

The inaugural Path to E-League tournament kicked off at the end of March and more than 100 eligible EA SPORTS FIFA 22 players have competed for slots in the E-League Finals.

Players battled it out over four days between March 29 and April 6, and a handful of qualifiers are now being considered for the few remaining spots with A-League clubs in the E-League Group Stages on May 7 and 14.

The E-League 2022 Finals will take place over two days on May 25 followed by the Semi-Finals and Grand Final on May 28. All E-League matchdays, including the Finals, will be broadcast live on Twitch.
