It’s a Western Sydney Derby tonight when Blacktown City and the Western Sydney Wanderers meet infront of sell-out Westfield FFA Cup crowd at Lily Homes Stadium.
Both club’s will be entering the clash filled with confidence after having successful preparations for the match.
The Wanderers have had an undefeated pre-season and the match will mark the third time the Red & Black have reached the Quarter Finals of the Westfield FFA Cup.
Wanderer Kearyn Baccus is set to face his former club tonight, having signed with the Wanderers back in 2014 from the National Premier League side.
Head coach Tony Popovic has a fully fit squad to select from tonight and it may be the first time Wanderers fans will see Raúl Llorente and Álvaro Cejudo in action with both yet to make their club debut.
Blacktown City were recently crowned the Club Champions in the NSW National Premier League 1 and have been nicknamed the ‘Giant Killers’ for their ability to knock-out Hyundai A-League clubs in the Westfield FFA Cup.
In preparation for tonight’s match, Blacktown recently played against Wellington Phoenix and defeated the club 2-1.
Blacktown’s squad features a number of players with both Hyundai A-League and National Premier League experience setting up for a great contest between the two sides.
Former Wanderer Joey Gibbs and Mitch Mallia have been in great form for the Toongabbie club and will be looking to continue adding to their Westfield FFA Cup goal tallies tonight.
