Football Federation Australia (FFA) tonight officially recognised significant milestone achievements by players from the Westfield W-League & Hyundai A-League at the Dolan Warren Awards which was held at The Star in Sydney this evening.
The Head of Hyundai A-League & Westfield W-League, Greg O’Rourke, believes that it is important to officially recognise these outstanding achievements.
“Since the inception of the Hyundai A-League six (6) players have made 250 matches and from the start of the Westfield W-League twelve players (12) have made 100 appearances.
“In addition two (2) Westfield W-League players (Sam Kerr and Michelle Heyman) have scored over 50 goals and one (1) Hyundai A-League player (Besart Berisha) has scored over 100 goals.
“Last year we recognised Besart Berisha and during the off-season we made a decision to formalise the recognition program across both leagues.
“This program of recognition will continue in perpetuity and will also include recognising 10-years’ service to the Hyundai A-League from the beginning of the next season at club matches,” concluded O’Rourke.
