On 19 and 20 November 2014 the FIFA Club World Cup Welcome Tour presented by TOYOTA is set to visit Sydney, home of AFC Champions League winner Western Sydney Wanderers FC.
The global tour is visiting the home cities of all seven of the Club World Cup’s participating teams to promote the event which will be played in Morocco between 10 and 20 December 2014.
During the Welcome Tour, the spotlight will be on the FIFA Club World Cup Trophy, which will be displayed in every city offering fans a glimpse of the coveted prize that will be awarded to the event winners in Marrakech.
The trophy will be on display in the shopping centre Westfield Parramatta on 19 and 20 November as well as during the Western Sydney Wanderers home match against Central Coast Mariners.
“The Welcome Tour is a fantastic opportunity to bring the FIFA Club World Cup to the thousands of passionate fans of all the qualified teams. Last year, football fans showed great interest all over the world and this is the second time that this ambitious project has been undertaken. I would like to thank each of the participating clubs for their tremendous support in helping FIFA realise this initiative,” said FIFA President Blatter.
Wanderers Chief Executive Officer John Tsatsimas said: “We are absolutely delighted that the Welcome Tour and the FIFA Club World Cup Trophy is visiting Western Sydney. There is immense passion and pride for football amongst the Western Sydney Wanderers community and we thank FIFA for giving our fans this opportunity to see the Club World Cup trophy.”
