This weekend the Wanderers’ Academy teams played in their first series of matches, producing some great results and showing plenty of promise for the future.
It was a strong start for our newly formed teams with the U13s, U14s and U15s all squaring off against the Emerging Jets’ teams.
Together, the boys secured two draws and a victory: the U13s drew 3-3 and the U14s finished 1-1, while the U15s defeated the Jets 7-0.
On Sunday, our U18s squad played in a pre-season tournament hosted by Sydney United and went on to win the entire competition.
In the group stage, the Academy defeated APIA Leichhardt 2-1 and then drew with Manly United. These results helped the team progress into the final where they went on to beat the Emerging Jets 3-2.
Earlier in the week, six of our U16s players travelled to the Australian Institute of Sport where they participated in the NTC Challenge under the banner of FNSW NTC.
