Former Wanderer Yusuke Tanaka announces retirement

Former Wanderer Yusuke Tanaka has today announced his retirement from professional football.

The Japanese defender joined the club from Kawasaki Frontale during the 2014/15 season and made 15 appearances for the club across both the domestic competition and AFC Champions League.

The former J-League Cup and Emperor Cup winner started his career in Japan in 2007 where he spent four seasons at Yokohoma F. Marinos before switching to Kawasaki Frontale in 2011.

After the stint in Western Sydney, Tanaka returned to Japan where he played for several seasons at Cerezo Osaka before wrapping up his career at Fagiano Okayama.

The Wanderers wish Yusuke all the best in the next stage of his career.
