Former Wanderers captain Dimas Delgado has announced his retirement from professional football.
Delgado made the move to Australia with the Wanderers in August 2015 after seven seasons in Spain at sides at Recreativo Huelva, FC Cartagena and Numancia.
At the Wanderers, Delgado quickly became part of Red & Black folklore, leading the Red & Black’s charge to their third Grand Final in the 2015/16 season.
The Spaniard on arrival received the honour of being named the third captain in Wanderers history and left the club having been the top pass-maker in both his seasons at Western Sydney.
Following his two-season stint at the Wanderers, Delgado moved to India where he won the Indian Super League and the AIFF Super Cup with Bengaluru before wrapping up his career in Spain with Montañesa.
The Western Sydney Wanderers would like to thank Dimas for his immense contribution to the club and wish him and his family all the best for the future.
