The Western Sydney Wanderers Foxtel NYL team play their opening home game at Marconi Stadium this Sunday in the first match of a double header with the Westfield W-League. Kick-off is 10:30am.
1. Players to watch out for
Keep an eye on Lachlan Scott, the physically imposing centre forward who had a huge impact on the scoresheet in last weekend’s 3-3 draw against the Newcastle Jets. Scoring the opening two with first-time strikes, Scott also played a part in the third goal, chesting down and controlling a high ball before releasing Josh Macdonald out wide.
2. Overage Players
While the Foxtel NYL is an U23 competition, each side is allowed up to three overage or foreign players so you get the chance to see first team players return from injury or get some game time in their legs. Last week Golgol Mebrahtu returned from injury to hit the crossbar and Kearyn Baccus controlled the midfield.

3. First-team graduates
The Wanderers have a proud history of bringing in their talented NYL players into the first-team so there is every expectation that you will be watching future first-teamers strutting their stuff this Sunday.
There will be an entire squad out there playing in front of the boss to become the next NYL graduate to have an impact in the Hyundai A-League such as Jonathan Aspropotamitis, Jaushua Sotirio, Daniel Alessi or Liam Youlley.
3. Bang for your buck
Sunday’s match is the first of a Foxtel NYL and Westfield W-League Double Header with both matches free of charge for Members. The NYL kicks-off at 10:30am with the women looking for a win that will get them into the top four at 3pm.
