Grand Final day set for the WSIA Wanderers World Cup

Grand Final day locked in as WSIA Wanderers World Cup reaches its final week!

The Western Sydney International Airport (WSIA) Wanderers World Cup heads into its final week at Wanderers Fives, with pool play complete and every side now turning their attention to Grand Final day on Sunday 19 July.

Across six rounds, four pools of nations have gone head-to-head, and the standings heading into the final week tell the story of a tournament that has delivered plenty of quality football and no shortage of drama.

Pool A

Deloitte (Columbia) have topped Pool A, finishing the group stage unbeaten in five with the best goal difference in the pool at plus 18. Barbie Ballers (Sweden) pushed them all the way, finishing just a point behind, while Jai Rose FC (Spain) and Aussie (Australia) also secured their spot in the finals mix. Heskey Time (New Zealand) rounded out a competitive top half of the table.

Pool B

Pool B produced the standout story of the group stage, with BBC Ballers (Argentina) and Afghan Reclink Aus (Austria) both finishing unbeaten through six matches. BBC Ballers edged it on goal difference, having scored 36 and conceded just eight across the pool. REAL Bosh (Brazil) claimed third, with Bosnia & Herzegovina and Hazara United (Turkey) rounding out the group’s finals contenders.

Pool C

Class On Grass (Scotland) finished Pool C with a perfect record, conceding just twice in six matches. Nepal (Senegal) and Portugal were locked together on 15 points, with Nepal’s superior goal difference giving them the edge for second. StreetVerse (Iran), Favelas (Ecuador) and Melrose Estate Agents (Ivory Coast) all finished level on nine points, making for one of the tightest finishes across the tournament.

Pool D

Next Please (Norway) topped Pool D without dropping a match, while Seb FC (Algeria) posted the best goal difference in the group at plus 20. Puma Pants (Croatia) and Nestory’s Bunda (Switzerland) finished level on points to round out the group’s top four.

Finals format

Every team will take to the field twice on Grand Final day. Sides will play their first fixture in the morning, with the result shaping the timeslot and opponent for their second match, giving every team a genuine reason to bring their best from the opening whistle. Western Sydney International Airport will then host a presentation following the Grand Final, closing out the tournament by recognising the teams and players who have made this year’s competition one to remember.
