Hyundai A-League action is finally back this weekend when the Wanderers take on Melbourne City at ANZ Stadium.

The match will mark the third time the Wanderers and City have faced off this season with City securing the honours in each meeting so far.

The Red & Black will be looking to bounce back tonight from a very disappointing result in Wellington.

Mark Rudan’s men were in top gear in the New Zealand capital and blew the Wanderers away with a lethal 21-minute spell which saw Roy Krishna, Mandi and David Williams all on target.

Wanderer Mitchell Duke netted a late consolation with a glancing header from Oriol Riera’s cross but it failed to prevent a first defeat since February 1st for the Red & Black.

The recent time off has certainly come at the right time for the Wanderers who were without Keanu Baccus, Tass Mourdoukoutas and Abraham Majok in the Wellington fixture.

Saturday’s match will no doubt be an opportunity for the Red & Black to redeem themselves in their third last game at ANZ Stadium.

On the other hand, Melbourne City are filled with confidence and will be pushing for their third-straight win against the Red & Black this season.

City snapped a six-match winless run with an important three points against Sydney FC in Round 22 of the Hyundai A-League.

A Shayon Harrison brace secured the result for City who notched their first win against the Sydneysiders since the 2015/16 season.

City on Saturday will be looking to continue their march towards the finals series and the Wanderers will no doubt be looking to rain on their parade and secure their first win against the Melbournians this Hyundai A-League season.
