Ahead of Saturday’s blockbuster Sydney Derby, defender Brendan Hamill says that despite playing away it will feel exactly like a home match for the Red & Black.
The Wanderers will play their first Sydney Derby of the season at Allianz Stadium with Hamill expecting a sea of Red & Black in the stands.
“It’s a home game for sure. [Our fans] are so passionate and they are so loud,” said Hamill.
“It’s pretty much 60% red and 40% blue whenever you go play at Allianz, they’re magnificent and they’re our 13th man.”
“We expect a lot of noise and a packed out stadium at Allianz.”
The Wanderers will be looking to secure back-to-back Derby wins, having ended the Sky Blues undefeated run back in February this year.
“They probably think they’re invincible but they’re not.
“It’s a big game for the club, a big game for the Wanderers and a big game for the players. A Derby is a Derby and that’s the best way to explain it.
“There’s a lot of pride on the line for who takes the bragging rights for the first Derby and we want to do that.”
