Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed the signing of young gun Aydan Hammond until the end of the Isuzu UTE A-Leagues season.
The youngster returned to Australia at the age of 19 with A-Leagues side outfit Central Coast after spending eight years overseas in Portugal with Belenenses.
Born in Westmead, the Western Sydney local is set to be part of his first season of the domestic top flight with the Red & Black.
Hammond said he was grateful to be given the opportunity to represent his hometown club.
“I’ve always been a Wanderers supporter since I was a kid, so now being part of this environment, it’s not just a club to me… it’s my home,” said Hammond.
“It’s exciting for me to be part of the club now. I just want to improve myself and work with the club, the support that they have been giving me has been unreal so far. I’m very grateful to be part of it.
“The (members and fans) have been unreal from the start of the Wanderers until now. I want to thank them for everything they’ve given us, it plays a part having that energy and passion from them.
“It’s not just our families we’re playing for, we’re playing for the club, we’re playing for the members and fans. We’re playing for everyone that has a love for the club.”
