Hemed: This is only the start

Forward Tomer Hemed on hitting the back of the net in his last two matches and giving his all for the members and fans.

The striker got onto the scoresheet for the second match in a row in the Wanderers clash against his former club on Friday night with Hemed confident that the result should kickstart some positive results for the Red & Black going forward.

“First of all, for the win we deserved it. We worked hard, we give everything and in the end, the result for us is a win,” said Hemed.

“I think all the boys knew that it was an opportunity for us to get three points to go forward and with a lot of push from the fans and everyone.

“We are looking to keep going forward and get three points.”

Hemed has played an instrumental role in the front third for the Wanderers so far this season and has an unmatched work ethic both on and off the ball.

“That’s my job to score goals, I need to keep going and obviously I am happy to score and help the team,” explained Hemed.

“But the most important is that we win.

“I am happy for the three points and I will keep working hard to help the team in any way.

“The important thing is that everyone is happy and next week is another story. We go again and we need to get three points.”

Hemed also spoke highly of the Wanderers travelling fans who he believes are one of the driving motivations in getting three points in every match this season.

“I think for the fans, we gave everything because they deserve the three points as they come with us everywhere and we want to make them happy this season,” said Hemed.

“This is only the start.

“We give them everything, every game to make the fans happy.”

The Wanderers will now turn their attention to Tuesday night’s FFA Cup Round of 16 fixture against APIA Leichhardt at Leichhardt Oval. You can get your tickets to the match here.
