It’s arguably the most important position on the pitch. The midfield battle is crucial in FIFA and the Hyundai A-League, and these five are pretty impressive.
Equal 4. Mark Milligan – Melbourne Victory – 74
His first FIFA Ultimate Team entry in a few years – since his last stint at Melbourne Victory – and he’s come with a big upgrade!
From 68 in FIFA 15 to 74 in this edition; the defensive midfielder is hard as nails, can defend, and is comfortable on the ball.
Melbourne Victory fans will be over the moon to have Milligan back in the game.
Equal 4. James Troisi – Melbourne Victory – 74
It was hard to separated Troisi and Milligan given they’re such different players; one is attack minded and pacy, while the other is the archetypal six.
The two would complement each other perfectly in a midfield pairing on FIFA, right down to their preferred feet.
Troisi’s biggest assets are his pace, his dribbling, and technical skills.
Milligan and Troisi; a top pairing for any Hyundai A-League Ultimate Team.
3. Milos Ninkovic – Sydney FC – 75
The Johnny Warren medal winner got a big boost this season: four points up from last year’s rating of 71.
This came via a Rest of the World Team of the Season accolade where he was awarded a card with an 87 ranking!
But with another year gone by, EA SPORTS has seen how he’s developed.
His biggest growth has been in his technical ability, which has seen jumps in his shooting, passing, and dribbling skills, while his physical attributes have slightly decreased.
Regardless, the Serbian is going to be a great 10 for any Hyundai A-League side.
2. Alvaro Cejudo – Western Sydney Wanderers – 76
The third-best player in the Hyundai A-League right now, and the second-best midfielder.
Coming straight from La Liga was always going to give Cejudo a boost with the EA SPORTS scouts, but they’ve got big wraps on the midfielder.
Strong on both feet, quick, and a dribbling ability to match midfielders around the world, he looks to be a perfect 10 for the Wanderers.
With him leading the midfield, Western Sydney could be a very fun team to use in FIFA this year.
1. Diego Castro – Perth Glory – 76
Where last year he was deemed a CF by EA SPORTS scouts, this year he’s been moved into the left midfield role.
He’s got talent by the bucketload – with 80 dribbling, four star skill moves, and passing and shooting to match anyone in the league, you can play Castro almost anywhere.
However, what’ll be most interesting to see is how he’s utilised by Hyundai A-League Ultimate Team players.
Where would you play the best midfielder in the Hyundai A-League?
