Ins & Outs: Melbourne City v Wanderers

Western Sydney Wanderers head coach Robbie Hooker has named his extended squad for Saturday night’s clash against Melbourne City at AAMI Park.

Still undefeated this season, Michael Matricciani’s Melbourne City will be looking to maintain their strong start when they face the Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.

Key to City’s early success has been American import Lourdes Bosch, who has delivered three goals and two assists to establish herself as one of the competition’s standout players.

The Western Sydney Wanderers, however, are determined to turn their fortunes around as they head to Victoria. Despite a challenging result in the Unite Round, Robbie Hooker’s side has shown glimpses of their potential, including a promising start in their opening match against the Newcastle Jets.

A boost for the Wanderers could come in the form of Holly Caspers, who could return to the squad after returning from injury. Her pace and creativity could provide the spark needed to reignite the team’s attack and pose a threat to Melbourne City’s backline.

The Wanderers will be eager to rediscover their attacking form and make a statement against a high-flying City team in what promises to be a spirited contest.
