Head coach Geoff Abrahams has named his extended squad for Saturday afternoon’s Ninja A-League clash against Newcastle Jets.
The Wander Women head into their second straight away match full of confidence after claiming their first win of the season with a late 1–0 result over Brisbane Roar.
The side showed real signs of growth in Spencer Park, controlling large stretches of the match and creating chances through Danika Matos, Talia Younis, and captain Amy Harrison. Sham Khamis’ early one-on-one save set the platform, and a composed 87th-minute finish from Olivia Price sealed a deserved three points for a Wanderers outfit continuing to build rhythm and belief.
They now meet a Newcastle Jets team coming off a hard-fought 1–1 draw with Wellington Phoenix. The Jets recovered well after conceding early, drawing level through a Melina Ayres penalty and relying heavily on goalkeeper Anna Leat, who produced several crucial saves to keep them in the contest.
With momentum finally shifting their way, the Wanderers will look to continue their upward trajectory and push for a second consecutive win away from home.
