Isuzu UTE A-League: Wanderers injury update

Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today provided an update on a number of injured players from the 2023/24 Isuzu UTE A-Leagues squad.

The Wanderers have unfortunately confirmed that Socceroo Brandon Borrello will be sidelined for the next three months with a foot fracture.

Borrello, an instrumental part of the Wanderers squad, has worn the Red & Black hoops with passion and pride over the last season and a half.

Borrello suffered the fracture after a foul from Luke Brattan in the opening minutes of the 36th Sydney Derby and was forced from the field shortly after.

The entire Western Sydney Wanderers family will be supporting Brandon through his surgery and recovery and look forward to seeing him back at what he does best, representing both his club and country in 2024.

Defender Alex Bonetig has been progressing well from a broken bone in his foot which was sustained in the Wanderers Round 1 clash against Wellington Phoenix.

The young defender is expected to return to full team training in the next two weeks.

Veteran midfielder Milos Ninkovic is still recovering from a calf injury from Round 4’s fixture against Perth Glory and is set to re-join the extended squad for the Wanderers next home clash against Melbourne Victory.

Anthony Pantazopolous sustained a serious hamstring injury at training two weeks ago and is currently in rehab.

In positive news, both Aidan Simmons and Gabriel Cleur returned to full team training last week and are now both available for selection after hamstring injuries.

The Wanderers Isuzu UTE A-League team will take on Brisbane Roar this Friday night at Suncorp Stadium. You can tune into the match live on Paramount+.
