We have today announced the signing of Western Sydney local Kearyn Baccus for the 2015/16 and 2016/17 Hyundai A-League seasons and 2015 AFC Champions League.
Having joined the squad in December 2014 as an injury replacement player for Brendon Santalab, the central midfielder impressed before succumbing to injury himself.
The former Socceroo squad member played four Hyundai A-League matches in his initial spell with us as well as featuring in the FIFA Club World Cup against African Champions ES Setif.
After spells at Le Mans (France), Real Mallorca (Spain) and Blacktown City (NPL), Baccus’ stint at Wanderland was his first taste of Hyundai A-League action.
The Kings Park local grew up in Blacktown after his family moved to Australia at a young age from his native country South Africa and the 23 year old is proud to continue representing his region.
“I’m proud and excited to have signed an extended contract with the Wanderers, especially as I’m a Blacktown boy – representing my region is a dream come true” said Baccus.
“My time with the Club during my short-term contract was one of the best experiences of my career so far and I’m delighted to have made that permanent.
“Popa has rejuvenated my career; he made me realise a lot of things and I look forward to getting over my injury so I can continue working hard to achieve big things with the Wanderers.
Baccus’ brother Keanu also plays for the Club in the Foxtel National Youth League.
