Keir is Red & Black

Western Sydney Wanderers FC have this morning confirmed the signing of defender Lauren Keir for the next two Liberty A-League seasons.

Keir is set to play for the first time outside of Canberra in the Liberty A-Leagues competition, having spent the last five seasons in the nation’s capital.

During her time at United, Keir made 34 appearances and regularly started in her last two seasons at the club.

More recently, the defender was part of the Macarthur Rams side who were crowned the Champions in the NSW National Premier League.

Keir said she was excited to go in a new direction of her career at the Wanderers.

“I knew it was time for a change and to continue to grow as a player both on and off the field,” said Keir.

“I heard really good things about the Wanderers and after talking to Kat (head coach Kat Smith) I knew it was the right decision for me.

“Coming off the back of winning the National Premier League Championship has made me come into pre-season hungry to win more silverware for my new club.

“I was to continue to grow as a player and help this team win the Championship!”
