Western Sydney Wanderers new signing Leena Khamis wants to make history with the Red & Black this season.

Western Sydney Wanderers new signing Leena Khamis wants to make history with the Red & Black this season.

Khamis joined the Wanderers Westfield W-League team this week, making the move from the club’s cross-city rivals where she has spent her entire career.

The prolific attacker says the move to the Red & Black hasn’t sunk in just yet.

“It still hasn’t hit me yet, putting the Red & Black on for the first time,” said Khamis.

“I’m actually really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a big challenge.

“New team and the appointment of Dan Barrett, who was one of the influences for me coming to the club, I’m looking forward to creating some history here.”

Khamis, along with her fellow teammates, will be aiming to make Wanderers history this Westfield W-League season when they aim to qualify for the club’s first finals series appearance.

“I’ve already had a good chat with Dan, our goals are the same,” said Khamis.

“The Wanderers W-League team haven’t made a finals series before and that’s our main goal to start with.

“Obviously going the whole way, creating some history for the club.”
